  1. @terminamator I hope to have more electrical videos for? you in the coming year. Thanks for the comment.

  2. I would have included the fuse box. You CAN have an electrical system without it, but it would not be advisable. ? This can be the source of a a number of issues, not the least of which can be blown fuses, of course, and corroded electrical junctures.

  3. Years of confusion have just parted in front? of me like the Red Sea. I doubled my knowledge of electricity in one sitting!

Thanks for clearing things up, Eric.

  4. Solenoid also throws out gear which couples engine and starter together. So it does mechanical and electrical work meaning it can cause both problems. Flywheel gear ring can add to possible cause if? its teeth are broken.

  5. Most important, before? you work on battery and have to disconnect it, you should prepare code for radio!

  6. follow those fat copper cables from battery, and? check them thoroughthly, unscrew and clean connectors. one connector should be loose or broken.

  7. @EricTheCarGuy Battery installed by Autozone for? free. Unfortunately (fortunately for me)I was able to turn the battery positive connection several times before it was truly tight. Once done the problem has stopped. Thanks for the GOOD advice.!

  8. @malewizard “Pulled negative cable from battery while running, car continued to run with no drop.”

Never pull the battery cable when the engine is running. You can badly damage your alternator and possibly the ECU. The battery acts as an electrical filter on the system. Without? the filtering of the battery, you subject everything in the electrical system to sharp damaging voltage spikes.

  9. @malewizard I would be checking? the electrical connections especially at the battery to make sure they are clean and tight.

  10. Eric HELP 1999 Buick regal. Dash lights just started to flicker while running, and the ignition is intermittent to strat, one time starts right up,next time it will just click the starter or nothing at all. Brand new battery. Checks ok. Pulled negative cable from battery while running, car? continued to run with no drop. Any ideas? Ignition?

  11. As an automotive tech and student, your videos provide me with a clear and practical explanation of automotive systems. These videos are priceless.? Thx a million!
